Free Workshop in support of Child Mental Health Week

At Raising Resilience, we believe every child deserves the skills to thrive emotionally. That’s why we’re offering free online workshops for Year 3 classes during Child Mental Health Week in February.

For the fourth year running, Raising Resilience is delighted to offer two live online workshops for Children’s Mental Health Week.

Over the last four years we’ve supported over 2,000 children and their parents and carers, and many schools come back year after year.

This year’s theme — “This is My Place” — celebrates helping children feel safe, supported and connected. Our workshop focuses on the emotional foundations of belonging: feeling calm, being heard and knowing there are adults who can help when feelings feel big.

About the Workshop

In a live shared workshop, your Year 3s will explore brain science and meet our Learn2BOUNCE Calming Friends, the session helps children:

  • Understand what happens in their brain during big feelings
  • Notice early signs that their feelings are getting overwhelming
  • Learn simple tools to calm their bodies and reconnect with learning
  • Feel supported by the adults around them

When children feel calmer and understood, they can connect more easily with others — and this sense of being seen, supported and safe strengthens their feeling of belonging in their classroom community.

Teachers receive brief follow-up guidance and classroom resources to put skills into practice. Families receive a parent handout and video so the shared language continues at home.

Why Take Part?

  • A supportive, wellbeing-first experience aligned with the 2026 theme
  • A gentle introduction to the BOUNCE approach for pupils, staff and parents
  • Helps children feel heard and supported — key ingredients of belonging
  • Gives staff practical strategies to use immediately
  • Supports consistent language across school and home
  • Limited spaces: 20 classes per workshop

It’s an excellent way to experience the BOUNCE Programme in action before exploring wider whole-school options.

What other schools say

"Best been part of"

Deputy Head Teacher and Inclusion Leader, St Hild's College CE (Aided) Primary School

Just a quick message to say a huge thank you for inviting our Y4 class to join the live session this afternoon. I have had really positive feedback from both the children and the Y4 teacher who said she felt the session was "excellent" and "one of the best she's been part of." Mental health is a big part of our whole school provision for both our children and their families so we really appreciate the opportunity to work with you today.

"Child fascinated"

Year 4 Class Teacher, Assistant SENDCo, RSH&E Lead, Wellstead Primary School

Thank-you very much for a great lesson. My apologies that I was off camera - we had just had a flipped my lid situation so my class were in with the other Y4's and I was with the child in question, who I have to say was fascinated - which is very unlike him. We will definitely use your resources with him. Thank-you again

"Informative and productive"

Christ the Sower Ecumenical Primary School

It was very informative and productive - thank you

"Highly Recommend"

Y4 class teacher

The session was really useful and informative for both staff and children. Throughout the session, the children were taught a number of strategies to help them cope when their emotions become too overwhelming and their 'guard dog' takes over (going into fight, flight or freeze). The children were given the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings and ideas and they were all thoroughly engaged throughout the workshop. The resources that were shared were easily accessible and I would highly recommend the workshop to other KS2 classes.
